Here's Lucas's explanation as to why we no longer have heat/air in my car:
"There's no more fire in the engine to make it hot, Mommy." (With a look of DUH Mommy! on his sweet face)
My explanation: "I drive a 13 year old SUV"
At three and a half, Lucas has entered into the phase of emulating his daddy. No longer does he grab my makeup brushes and swirl them around his face (thank goodness). Instead, I often find him, screwdriver in hand, trying to replace a dead battery or fix a broken train. He has learned how to maneuver the computer mouse when his he watching his beloved "Airplanes" on Hulu. This real-to-life movie of Air Force pilots to Lucas's all time favorite thing to watch.
I thought we had seen all of it with him (giving our approval), but apparantly we missed the part in the movie when the pilots clink their "glasses" together at dinner. Something Lucas insisits we now do - raising his sippy cup of milk to our sweet tea and lemonade!
But one thing Lucas does that his Daddy would never be caught doing is dancing in very public places. Like Five Guys and Circuit City. I wish I had a video of Lucas dancing for 10 minutes, eyes closed in total concentration, to the music playing at that amazing burger joint. It was hysterical. And last night on a quick jaunt to CC, Lucas shook his booty rather mightly to Christina Aguilera's song "Dirty". Not that I approve of that song, but it sure was funny!
Everyone had told me this day would come when Lucas would start to identify with Matt. I am so thankful I no longer have to explain to him why he doesn't carry a purse or wear makeup like Mommy. But now that I have a little girl, I can't wait to share those wonderful girlie things we women do!
When is she old enough for me to paint her toenails? Is seven months too young?

Really, women carry purses because our men don't want to carry their keys/wallets/etc. around with them so we get stuck with it all :P
