Sinus Infection Gone Wild

Well, I have learned a very important lesson this week. You see, last week I caught a terrible sinus infection. Terrible headache, stuffy nose, watery eyes, sneezing.... you get the idea. I decided to wait it out, suffer through, because I didn't want to take any meds that could possibly harm the baby. Well that turned out to be a bad idea. This week I started having really sharp upper back pain. I felt sore and stiff in my shoulders and neck. Apparently the infection has settled into my lungs. The weirdest part was that yesterday, I started feeling pain in my jaw and teeth. After a little research online, I found out that there is a sinus cavity located under the cheekbones which can become infected causing pain in the jaw and teeth. Strange, I know. I finally broke down and called the doctor on Tuesday. After receiving a nice, little lecture from the nurse about waiting too long to call, she called in a prescription for a Z-pack and told me to also take Tylenol Sinus....

Sunny Saturdays

So, earlier this week I tried to post a blog which I titled "Tina". I did not realize, however, that my entry did not post. Sorry for the confusion Kat. Here's the story. Tina is a 3 year old in my class. She was adopted from Russia just this past August. I haven't made a big to-do over the baby yet with my kids at school because having a baby in my tummy is a pretty challenging concept for toddlers. So, the other day Tina completely surprised me when she pointed to my belly and said "baby". I was shocked. How in the world did she know?? Then later that afternoon, her Papa came to pick her up and guess what she did?! That's right, she patted her belly, pointed to me, and said "baby". Her dad was quite confused because apparently he didn't realize that I'm expecting. I know it's a silly story, but it was just so sweet to me because she figured out that my little belly is a baby. Kids are just so great. I think I'm on...

Good Times

Matt and I went to Greenville last night for a night on the town. Downtown Greenville really is a great place. I told Matt that I would really like to spend a weekend there exploring all of the shops on main street. We ate dinner at Moe's. Yum... baby likes burritos. Then we drove up and down main street for 45 minutes looking for the Carpenter's Cellar. The Newspring band performed some of their oringinal songs there last night. We only heard about 4 songs since it took 20 minutes to find a parking spot, but it was still fun. I am really looking forward to the first time I feel the baby move. I'm 15 weeks and 3 days. The books say that the baby is already moving, but it too small for me to feel. Sometime between 16 and 20 weeks should be when I feel it for the first time. Last Sunday at church, a friend of mine turned to me during worship and said that the baby is probably dancing inside of me to the music. I really hope so. In fact, how great would it be for ...

Catching Up

I'm afraid a couple of weeks have passed since my last post. I hope you haven't given up on me. It's been a whirlwind lately. Why don't I start with today and try to work back, okay? First off, it's totally gorgeous today! Have you been outside yet? Today our church, New Spring, celebrated its 5th year anniversary! We had two services at the Anderson Civic Center and over 4700 people attended! The band was on fire, even performing a Black-Eyed Peas song complete with a christian rapper from Atlanta! (By the way, Black Eyed Peas is a band, for those of you none twenty-somethings.) I wish I could feel the baby move because I know that he was dancing! The sermon was titled "Overdrive" and yes, there was a Dodge Viper parked down front. Something that Perry said really struck me. Lately, I've felt like I'm living life like a hamster, gettting in the wheel (my job) every morning only to run my heart out and yet go no where. God wants more for my life an...
