Happy Days

So I was reading online today about the baby's development. Here's what I found. Our baby has a profile now, complete with a little chin and nose. Tiny fingernails and toenails are forming. The baby's first urine is being made and eliminated into the amniotic sac. Now I'm sure that's something many of you hadn't thought about before! Recently it seems like everyone is telling me that I'm glowing. So sweet. I've been claiming that it is the nauesa, but a website that I was reading today said that there is actually a phyisological reason why many women seem to have smoother, more radiant skin during pregnancy. Apparently my increased blood volume combined with the pregnancy hormone, hCG, makes me glow. Too bad manufactorers can't bottle and sell that in a moisturizer! Only 10 more days left in my first trimester! Yeah! I can't believe how time has passed by so quickly. I am so anxious to hold our precious baby in my arms! I can't wa...

12 Weeks

I know I say this all of the time, but what a week! I'm exhausted! (Yes, I know it's only Thursday, but I have to vent!) We reached and passed the 12 week mark yesterday. By the way, I'm now counting everything based about the gestational age of the baby determined by two ultrasounds. I wanted to clarify because it can get confusing! My morning sickness took a hiatus over the weekend falsely leading to me dream that it was over. No such luck. But I can't complain, too much. I just feel blessed to have made it this far without any complications. Matt and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day. We agreed to simply buy each other cards and enjoy a night out together. But he broke the rules. And you had better believe that I didn't complain! Matt bought me the "Ultra Massaging Foot Spa"!! Complete with pedicure attachments and jets! Way to go Mattie! He said that he knew how tired I always feel after a day on my feet, so he thought I needed to be ...

Ramen Noodles

Well, the day has come. My love of Ramen noodles has come and gone in one week. Matt will be devastated. A couple entries back, I mentioned a particular craving for Japanese food. Food which can cost around $12.95 a plate. Matt, of course, was overjoyed when I announced that I was craving Ramen Noodles, a dish many college students are quite fond of due to the cost, $0.15 per meal. I quickly rushed to the grocery store where I promptly bought several packages in Beef and Oriental flavors. (Chicken tends to turn my stomach). Well, a week of eating noodles for lunch has come and gone, and today as I sat down with a steaming bowl in front of me, I realized that I never wanted to see Ramen noodles again. Ah, the fickle stomach of the pregnant woman. I haven't broken the news to Matt yet. He is at a hockey game tonight with his Dad and brother, Andy. The baby did get to enjoy a tasty treat tonight as I had dinner with my dear friend Kathryn and her family at Olive Garden. Yum. ...

drummer boy

Rain, rain go away, come again another day..... I have a special prayer request I would like to share with you. A dear friend of mine and coworker is pregnant. However, she is starting to experience complications and fears that she is going to lose the baby. She has a history of miscarriages which makes her even more scared. She left work today and was put on bed rest. Please pray that this baby will hold on tight and that she won't lose this child. Her name is Susan. Tonight Matt is rockin' with the NewSpring youth group at the FuseBox. Thankfully he wasn't able to locate his leather pants! I think this baby is destined to be a drummer, boy or girl. :)

Sunday Afternoon Update

What a week! This baby is wearing me out! Actually, I can't put all of the blame on our little one; Matt and I seem to overcommit ourselves until we are booked every night of the week! My dear friend Emily came up from Newnan, GA to hangout this weekend. Emily and I met in the 6th grade at LaGrange Academy. We helped each other survive the roller coaster rides of middle and high school. Emily is currently seeing the world (I'm so jealous!) and interviewing with medical schools. (Emily is the one who got me through chemistry and calculus!) It was great to see her! What a sweet friend! I hope you enjoyed getting to see a sneak peek of our gummy bear. What a gift ultrasounds are! Just to see that the little guy (or girl) is hanging on tight inside the gestational sac and growing like a bean is very reassuring. And to see the heartbeat was just incredible! It was so fast! Our offical due date is now August 31st. To answer a few questions that I...
